  1. I'll let you all know in a few weeks how things fit together. I bought a rebuilt transmission from a 04 Xterra on Ebay. I purchased a front differential and transfer case with 45K miles from a 96 pathfinder, I purchased a JDM 3.3L engine as well, all from Ebay. My daughter's 98 pathfinder SE has 258K miles on it. I want it to last a LONG time. I'm purchasing from Rock Auto all gaskets, seals including the water pump/timing belt kit and will replace all drive belts/fluids. I already replaced her entire interior, except the dash with one from a near cherry 2001 Pathfinder, and I painted it two years ago. She already has new tires/brakes, rear differential, etc. A coworker has a Buick V6 car with over 200K miles. He just paid a shop in N.C. about 2 thousand dollars to replace ONE head, a used JY head at that, all lifters and labor including labor to trouble shoot his problem. I'm going to have about that much $$ in everything I just purchased, including shipping and tax. Now....I just gatta do the work...:)

  2. so after probing everything, burping the system multiple times, getting a mechanical temp sender, pressure testing the system, hooking my scanner to it ... come to find out its the dash gauge itself.. i punched the dash and it started working again.. took the dash apart cleaned everything up .. took the gauge out of the cluster cleaned the contacts and printed board, re tighten it all back up and it works fine

  4. A local friend of mine took his 99 in a few years back and they did the repair on one side. The other was ok. I spent 3 years at my local Nissan dealership and we would see an R50 come in for it every couple of months or so. The guys there told me a couple years earlier, they saw a lot of them and a few were deemed not repairable, Nissan bought those ones back. Not too bad since Nissan said Utah isn't a rust state(surprised us there, lots of salt and alkali here and still use a lot of salt in the winter on the roads) but still has the rust state recalls done here.
