  2. I would check the battery terminals for tightness. Preferably check alternator terminals too. I suspect bad alternator voltage regulator. Can sometimes be battery with one shorted cell. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

  4. That most certainly qualifies! PS: I'm jealous, it's been a wimpy winter in Michigan.

  5. Been away for a little bit. Here's my 98 2wd 5peed August 2016 on top of Mt Roosevelt Scenic Overlook, Rockwood, Tn. Sad thing is shes long gone. I sold her to a good friend and he didnt even get a year outta her before he blew it up. Didnt know anything about it till months later. He could have made some of his money back, but never let me know she blew. That Pathy got me into obsession with the R50. Damn do I miss her. Sent from my SM-S367VL using Tapatalk

  6. Big day coming up this Sunday. I have a set of SurTrack CVs sitting in the garage now, along with the other front end stuff (control arms, tie rod ends, ball joints, end links). Also picked up a set of end links for the rear to tighten things up because I think the back ones are on their way out too. The CVs look pretty solid to me, Im pretty sure they’ll last at least a few years. I booked the same garage bay that I used for the lift, and my dad will be in town so I’ll have an extra set of hands, which will be nice. Once the new stuff is all in place, we are going to replace the front brakes and bleed the system to get rid of the pedal squishiness its had for a while now. If we have any time left after all of that, I’d like to replace the fluids in the tranny, transfer case, and both diffs. But that might have to wait because we’ll only have 10 hours or so. As for the bumper and tire carrier, I decided to buy a cheap welder an amazon and give it a go myself. I don’t have much time during the day so I haven’t been able to take it to a shop for the welding, and honestly it would probably be more expensive than buying the welder anyway. Im thinking I can have the bumper done before we go to the shop this Sunday but the carrier gate will probably come after. I picked up a spare 6 spoke LE wheel on eBay for 50 bucks but still no tire yet. Debating whether to get a falken wildpeak at3 so that it motivates me to upgrade the other 4 on the truck because these cheapo mudders are garbage on the highway. Lots of noise and they’re wearing out super quickly Updates to follow

  8. I had lift spacers and hated them, swapped to springs after only a few months. They're not an awesome option for legitimate off roading. Do some research on them, or give this video a shot:

  9. Sounds like the differential pinion. Are you lifted at all? Increased angles on the pinion will cause this. Do you also have any on/off acceleration related clunks or mechanical engagement type noises?

  12. Unfortunately, that is a common problem with the Pathfinders that have the VQ35 and a cable controlled throttle. Usually it is a small coolant leak at the throttle body that drips coolant onto the idle control valve. Over time the valve gets damaged and requires more current to operate and causes the idle control drivers to burn out in the ECU. Only real fix I know of is to repair/replace the ECU and replace the IAC valve. Make sure everything is clean and sealed. Things like the IAC valve are year specific even if the engine is the same because of the running changes that are done in the wiring and ECU. Often there are incompatibility issues just because of the emissions systems and programming.

  13. thanks to everyone that post these helpful answers here. my pathfinder had the IACV and ECM failures, but it didn't start after replacing/repairing them. It was stuck in 2 different shops for months without them finding the problem, until I came across this and other forum threads that lead me to the ECCS 2 fuse that was the problem with my car not starting. my mechanic checked all the fuses with a tester, but the eccs 2 fuse does not get current before starting the engine, so it was never actually tested by the other people that worked on my pathfinder. I was even thinking about selling it as a parts car since no one was able to find the problem and it was not worth it to spend more money. So thanks again! I hope to keep my pathfinder at least a couple more years.
