  2. Hi all! First off, I'm a Subaru guy slowly becoming more of a nissan guy. I've had 17 subarus over the past 15 years, but currently down to just 1, I've had a 280z for 12 years but just recently finally started working on it. I recently moved to Arizona from ND, originally from Alaska. After being here a few weeks I got a message from a friend who happened to be in Tucson and was helping another friend of his clear out his father's estate. I offered to lend a hand and my crappy mazda b2500 and we emptied a couple loads of stuff, with a few things left over for me to sell. When they were done and ready to leave town they asked if I wanted his vehicle, they didnt think it was worth the hassle of selling, so they left me his father's 99 LE pathy! I'm not sure if the father smoked in it, or these boys did enough damage to make it seem like he had since the day it was new.... but it was bad, really bad. Being inexperienced with cigarette smoke I gave it a good vacuuming and tried a couple "bombs" and then it just smelled like an old casino. I did some research and bought a nice little ozone machine locally used for 30$, ran it for 3 hours over the course of a few days, letting it air out after each for a few hours, and leaving the AC running one time to get the vents. It worked wonders. At first it had a residual ozone odor, and then it sat in that spot for a few months being baked in the arizona sun. I'd open it every once in a while and now it smelled like a freshly cleaned casino at least. I ran the ozone machine 1 more time, and it had the same effect. Christmas weekend we drove from Tucson to Jerome and Sedona, it had a faint odor at the start but over the course of the trip, with fast food, new febreze air fresheners in the vents and windows down alot of the time, it really isnt noticable, and I'm perfectly happy with the outcome. This process started back in August, this week i FINALLY got the title so it can be fully legal, and I'm super stoked for that. For my plans with it! It's currently going to replace my b2500 and my daily, and be our weekend adventure rig. I've already replaced the stock wheels with some 16x8.5 +6 level 8 trackers, with some 265/70 bfg long trail t/a. I picked up the wheel and tire set for 300$ so I'll ride out the rubber which is about 50%-40% tread on 3 of them, and like 90-80% on one, I'll keep that for a spare on a 16x8 +12 later probably. Future mods: Full coverage roof rack+ awning. Factory fender flares Air compressor + lockers. Custom bumpers f/r + rear spare swing out. Drivers side ladder to rack. Possible roof tent. Maybe a lift? It doesnt rub atm That's most of the plans and a whole wall of text for now. TLDR: 99 pathy for free, smelled like dead guy cigarettes and sadness. Smells better, works good. Current state of the Datsun Sold the silver/black subie before moving. Current state of the pathy Wheel poke with the 8.5 +6 What it looked like when I got it, sun damaged passenger fender. My current tool box setup if anyone cares ?

  3. Welcome! I was running 2" of spacers when I first got my rig and broke a total of 3 CV axles before ditching them in favor of springs. Not a single problem since. Camber bolts will not correct CV axle angle with a spacer lift. We stress this because its all too often the spacer lift is seen as the first choice due to the initial cost. In the end its far more expensive to deal with a broken CV axle+spacers than the initial cost of a set of springs.

  4. Yep, the stock setup is more of a cold air intake since it draws air from outside the engine bay. The air gets quite warm in that small space between the exhaust manifold and radiator that the so called cold air intakes put the filter. The stock airbox does a good job of keeping water out as long as you don't go deeper than the top of the tires. If water is a concern, a snorkel is the best route. My old Pathfinder uses a K&N filter in the stock airbox. I have done water crossings up to my headlights with no problems pulling water into the engine.

  5. Whoops sorry looks like your pic is the uprate version. I've been looking at the other for use in Honda OEM fluid. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

  6. This stuff also gets high praise in the Acura MDX forums for the 2001-2006 models that have known transmission issues. Some people have put it in a transmission, along with fresh fluid, that just started shifting strangely and it has fixed it for an extended period meaning 10k or more miles. They have several formulations and a chart on their website for what to use it in. This one as I recall is for fluids that meet the individual car makers spec. There are others that can uprate a fluid - like take a generic Dextron 3 fluid and take it to the enhanced Honda equivalent. I don't know if Nissan requires this. I only owned manual transmission Nissans. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

  7. Man, it's been over a year since our announcement. Where are we? We're behind where we wanted to be. We still talk about projects endlessly (today's topic was rear disc brake conversions), but a couple events in our personal lives this year surely derailed us a bit. I think @TowndawgR50 will give a separate update, but in general, I'll take the blame for things being slow throughout the year. At this point, we are finishing up 6 kits (3 each of 3" and 4"), plus some other side parts to complete another kit already partially in the field. Four of those kits are spoken for among the PNW crew, leaving 1 each of 3" and 4". I'm not sure when we'll push those latter two kits out, likely after we've had some additional hands-on with the parts and installs. That's the focus right now. We're still discussing 2020 plans, but tentatively we're talking about a few short run kits here and there rather than anything full-fledged. Our work schedules and locations presented their fair share of challenges, and Jake and I both have a few personal projects we'd like to focus on, so we've been discussing ways to make our two locations a little more independent. Part of that will be transferring my current CNC plasma table to him once my new one arrives and is operational. That would put nearly all of the SFD-making equipment in his hands, plus give him a kick-ass tool for a ton of projects. Since I'll have a larger table, I'll probably be exploring bumpers and skids, but will also be able to supplement SFD parts and such, too. More to follow soon...

  8. Should be a relatively easy swap, just use parts from later model truck, I would think anyway. Others here would likely know better. I'm eventually gonna gut the drivetrain and go SBF, like a mild 302 in my 95 and do a solid axle swap. Dana 44 front and a Dana 60 or 9 inch rear. Sent from my LG-H700 using Tapatalk

  9. Well, mine is my first car. I actually kind of didn't like it at first (what's this thing, Japanese? IFS? Ew!) (I wanted a Jeep or Ford truck really bad) but now that I have it, I love it! It has completely gotten me into Japanese automobiles, and am even interested in JDM cars and stuff now, something I had always frowned upon. In my opinion, many of us got into it on accident, and now we have a sickness; but a good one.
