  5. There will be at the end of the year, Truck of the Year is handled by voting amongst the year's monthly winners. @YegorTheLlama hasn't won a month yet this year so if he or someone else were to submit this pic in an appropriate TotM nominations thread and won that month, the pic would be in the running for TotY.

  8. Never delt with a pre programed valve body when I was working at the dealership. The various shops would simply do the trans work or replacement then send it over to get it programed. Haven't seen the trans program cause a no start either. Possible that the PRNDL switch is damaged, or misadjusted. When the trucks came in to have the trans flashed, they would turn on the warning lights and stay in first gear untill they got properly programed.

  11. Put a new dizz in from Pull-A Part. Had to advanced the time just a tad and without no doubt this old gal is running better than she's ever ran. Everything is working like it should, the a/c will freeze you out brrrrrrrrrrrrr. Gotta get the sunroof operational and new paint. Getting the wifey a Maxima the first of the year so between the Q and Pathy one of them will be getting some rest. Sent from my SM-S367VL using Tapatalk

  12. I bought a smittybuilt tj bumper and some metal for brackets! Also for radiator support repair of course. So that means I'll also be relocating all the plastic bits including the wager fluid and coolant resivoirs and a air intake will potentially get sealed up. Anyone have any suggestions on relocations and mounting? It will later get a winch plate put on it. Smittybuilts winch plates and even winches are cheaper than harbour frieght on Amazon. This has been an Amazon build huh? A Little bit of speedway motors . com but mainly amazon has been my supplier lol new phone now finally that's why I've been dark for so long. Gotta redownload tappatallk

  13. Looks like you've gotten some clarification on the splined parts. The same Pathfinder ratios were in Frontiers and Xterras, with the exception of select 99-00 KC Frontiers (31-spline). 31-spline HG43 and HG46 ratios are slightly different from 33-spline versions, but the carrier prevents use in our trucks anyway unless you want to convert to 31-spline. You won't find many 4.363's in Xterras because they were only in 00-01 XE V6 models, and for 01 only in XE V6 MT models. Probably not very common. Whereabouts in AZ are you? If you can find any 33-spline LSD, I have two 4.363-geared pumpkins in my collection and could set them up for you. (Fact is, I'm already sitting on 2 re-packed LSDs, but they are reserved for my homies.) I've been meaning to hit a JY around here anyway to pull some 33-spline axle shafts to cut up to make a test tool for confirming numbers on them, which means I could also pull it apart and see if we can bump the numbers on it a little with the spare friction plates and discs I have. Just a thought. @Mr_Reverse No lunchbox locker options for us 33-spliners, unfortunately. Some time ago (and probably still to this day), the Lock Right kept showing fitment in 31- and 33-spline carriers, but we were able to debunk its use in 33-spline open diffs, mainly because the type of carrier they fit into (2-piece/4-pinion) never existed in 33-spline applications (1-piece/2-pinion). Even then, the side gear cuts between the 31- and 33-spline carriers are very different...31-spline more chiseled, 33-spline more rounded. I did do a write up on how to convert to 31-spline, and also how to use a 31-spline Patrol lunchbox locker into a 33-spline open carrier...but that's as close as we're getting to lunchbox locker in our trucks. (And at that rate, just pony up for an air or e-locker.)

  14. PD-84 of the '00 X FSM shows a 4.3 ratio LSD offered. The '02 manual only shows 4.6 and 4.9 rear ends available, so '00-'01 is probably what you're after (and the '01 manual suggests you'll only find 4.3 gears in a manual trans donor, so good luck). Haven't checked on the Fronty but I'd expect a similar story. Hawairish compiled a table here of breakaway torque for various years. Looks like there wasn't really a good year for the R50 LSD, though they did get worse for '03-'04. Also IIRC the R50 rear end is 33-spline, for whatever that's worth.

  15. I believe @hawairish has a thread with info on super-packing an LSD somewhere. You can make it super tight if you want.

  18. Alright, we've been busy. Big batch of parts finally cut and cleaned up, ready for drilling and bending. Couple tweaks on parts from the last sets, most notably changes to the motor mount spacers. Same footprint, but more efficient piece with tons more tool access. In other news...I ordered another CNC plasma table last week. This one will increase cutting sizes to 48" x 33" (my current is 25" x 23", though I've not installed the kit that bumps it to 25" x 33"). This gets us a step closer to making bumpers and skids a reality. Still tons of things to think about in that regard, but since the table won't ship until January, we have some time to plan.

  21. I got caught 3 wheeling again a few days ago! So, I leave for school in 1.5 weeks. I have the cash for a front locker (The lokka model) already pulled out and ready to go. But it looks like the money’s just gonna sit at home until I come back from school. Maybe a spring break trip for a Spines2Pines install could be in order? I’m really not sure yet. I won’t need the locker while I’m at college so that’s good, but it sucks to be stuck where I am. I’m gonna tidy up a few small maintenance things before I head out (front brakes, oil change, undercoating, tie rod dust boot), and I think that’ll be about it for the year. Thanks for everyone’s help this year, the pathy has come along way. But with homework looming and the paychecks coming to an end, I think this thread is gonna be pretty silent for the next 8 months or so. If I find any trails in Iowa I’ll be sure to update all of you. Thanks again for being such a great community.

  23. I bought a kit like this off eBay the other month for $85, and they've worked great. Used them on long OME HDs for an FJ80 project, and just the other day on R50 OME MDs. I've used those rental ones on OME HDs in the past, but it's a pain. These were fairly effortless.

  25. thank you!! i love them so far, you barely hear them and that’s unheard of for mud tires. while they are slightly under 33s (32.5),they were advertised as 33x12.50 on a 10” wide rim so that’s probably why mine measured 11-11.5 on the 15x8. such a perfect fit i can just get my knuckle between the tire and strut thanks to the 3.75” backspacing. i also barely noticed them as terms of acceleration the3.5 handles them fine. i’ve been reading that “need to regear” thread and while i haven’t been in 4low yet, it’s definitely not necessary for road driving. still gets right up to speed no problem. i also balanced them with balancing beads and they also seem to work well so far! up next is putting on the manual hubs, change out the cvs and repair the old ones, finish painting my black striping along the bottom edge of everything, and maybe four round led lights where the grill goes? yes i think so. lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk OH AND I FORGOT TO ADD PRICES these tires right now are the cheapest i could find in this size other than the nankung (spelling?) muds from walmart that have absolutely no sipping at all (i deal with snow and these actually have great snow reviews those mankind’s do NOT lol). tires were 146 a piece from amazon (walmart has them for same price everywhere else wanted about 160-180 for them). Rims were 46 a piece from bbwheels.com.

  29. 1) The title is to simply state the product in detail. e.g. Energy Suspension Polyurethane Control Arm Bushings > Polyurethane Control Arm Bushings > Control Arm Bushings. 2) Body must describe the year/model Pathfinder, product, list a part number and optional: when and where purchased, price, picture, link, etc. 3) Follow up with feedback is highly encouraged. 4) 3rd party input is allowed but only factual, hands on experience about the specific product. 5) This section is for reference so it will be tightly monitored and will be edited by the staff to maintain integrity. 6) Violators will be persecuted. We are hoping this will organize specific data and streamline searches for part information. Feel free to add what ever you have but please check to make sure you aren't duplicating another thread first. Since this is a reference section, please refrain from chatter. Feedback and suggestions are always welcome. Thanks for the suggestion Andreus009! NPORA Staff

  30. Snohomish county in Washington is apparently a haven for car thieves. Now my 1988 Pathfinder has been stolen, partially stripped and damaged. I got it back, but it was no longer drivable. The radiator was blown apart and a bunch of wiring was torn out of engine compartment. I had insurance coverage through state farm, but they are doing all they can to get out of paying for the claim. They sent Kim Robinson to talk with me about the claim this week, but it was really a 2 hour interrogation and not at all intended to resolve the claim. I was insuring a lot through State Farm until that meeting. My monthly premiums were over $400 for my Carver Yacht, 2006 Truck, the Pathfinder, and renters insurance. Now everything has been moved to Progressive and Metro Mile Insurance companies. She asked me stuff like how long I worked for my employer, why I chose to not insure some of my vehicles for periods of time. Why I owned some vehicles that I didnt drive daily. Essentially, she was convinced I am trying to do something shady and she is on a fishing expedition to find out what exactly.
