  1. Well, that sucks. Not surprising Nissan wants nothing to do with it. They aren't known for owning up to their mistakes, let alone fixing them. Again, given how half-assed their "repair" procedure is, IMO you're better off doing it yourself anyway. Cut out the rotten area, cut a patch panel to fit into the hole, then butt weld it in there, followed by seam sealer, primer, and undercoat. Just slapping a patch over the rotten metal leaves a cavity that'll collect more dirt and moisture and keep the party going. I'm guessing you want this to be a permanent fix, not a band-aid. Probably a good idea to drape a welder's blanket or wet towel or something over the CV axle so you don't burn holes in your CV boots. Also obviously make sure there isn't a wiring harness, fuel line, brake line, etc on the other side of the metal before you cut and weld, that could make for a bad day. Given that it's structural, if you aren't sure of your welding skills or the best way to go about this, talk to a welder or a body shop and see how they'd tackle it.

  3. Turn your flashers on and put your ear up to where the clicking is coming from. You can stick your hand up there and feel around and you'll be able to feel what's making the clicking, and that'll be the one to pull out.

  5. Good advice from Slart there. Take the opportunity to fix it all and fix it right. If it's solid otherwise it'll be money and time well spent. Do you happen to know how long it was in Ohio before it came to Tennessee?

  6. Don't have anything new really to show other then this cold start i got today, and also this front plate mount I had to make. Cold start The muffler I have on right now is a Cherrybomb Turbo, dumping out right before the rear axle as we got lazy and didn't want to finish it to the tailpipe. I'm thinking about doing a straight pipe once it passes inspection but who knows, I might keep it as is. Plate mount The plate mount is made out of basic angle aluminum i had lying around the shop. Just drilled some holes and welded it together with a polish. It looks good in the silver colour it has mounted so chances are I wont be painting it, and ill probably make a new one for my rear plate mount.

  7. Yeah it's a pretty sad story. For sure makes it to where you dont pick up any hitch hikers. Got awhile to get into there, just got into Oregon and headed up to Portland. Trucks getting pretty good has mileage.

  13. Been awhile since I've been on here. Truck is still alive and did some more maintenance like new wheel bearings, U joints for the front driveshaft and brake caliper. Also I was able to pick up some HID retrofits off a guy who was parting out his R50 with a ton of other goodies. After installing the retrofits the clear corners seemed off to me so I went ahead and used a heat gun to melt the glue to take them apart and painted the inside gloss black. Imo it looks a lot better Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
